The sport of track & field might be one of the most diverse with events for sprinting, jumping, throwing, distance.
The program typically has over 100 participants for the varsity, JV and freshman levels and is a no-cut sport.
Coach Troy Harding is a true master of basically all of the events and he encourages his event coaches to build their squads to help score points for the illustrious team score at the end of the meet.
The sport is a blend of individual accomplishments (Personal Records/Bests) with team aspirations.
A spring sport, it starts out cold, but finishes hot down at the state track meet like this season with a first in Missouri since 1937 where the Hawklets had the state champions in 400-800-1600 won by three individuals.
