Rockhurst High School is proud to be a member of the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA). As such, we work in partnership with the the association and its members to bring Educational-based athletics back into sports. This means that we follow the MSHSAA by-laws and that we work together to demonstrate good sportsmanship to our guests, officials and own student-athletes. We know, you too, will show #ROCKPRIDE as you cheer on our Hawklets! We believe that, as does MSHSAA, that winning is a great reward but not our purpose. Our purpose is to form young men with the experiences of competition, hard-work, faith and teamwork.
Some details about the state series for MSHSAA in a sport. The number of classes in a sport is determined by the members and the board of directors. There currently are anywhere from 2 classes to 6 classes in athletics. Rockhurst is an all-boys school and so its enrollment gets doubled and then as a private school that enrollment is multiplied by 1.3. The end result is that in almost all cases, we will compete in the largest class for districts, sectionals and state championships.
The following are athletics and activities which we participate in MSHSAA:
ATHLETICS: Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Soccer, Swim & Dive, Tennis, Track & Field, Wrestling
ACTIVITIES: Choir, Instrumental Music, Speech & Debate
