Baseball with Coach DeGraw
5/11 - The baseball Hawklets have just two more games before postseason play begins, where it's one-and-one. They have the #2 seed locked up in the District bracket and are automatically in the Semifinals. Rockhurst will play that game on Saturday, May 16.
4/20 - Off to a 12-2 start, the baseball team has recently made a few changes in the batting order to get the offense clicking even more. Senior Luke Ritter has jumped into the two-spot, and senior TJ Green is now in the clean-up spot. They compete in the River City Festival this weekend.
Golf with Coach Nusbaum
5/18 - Rockhurst Golf finished 2nd at the State Golf Championship. The Hawklets sat in 4th place after the first day, but battled on the second day to take runner-up in Missouri's largest class.
5/11 - At the Sectional Championship on Monday, May 11, Rockhurst took home the title by 17 strokes. They were led by senior Greg Watkins, who shot a 75 and tied for top medalist. The Hawklets will head to Sedalia to play in the State Championship on Monday and Tuesday.
Lacrosse with Coach Reidy
5/27 - Having advanced to the LAKC Semifinals, the Hawklets square off tonight against rival Shawnee Mission East. Rockhurst looks to avenge a loss to the Lancers earlier in the season by a score of 5-7. The winner of the game heads to the finals, which will be played on Friday night.
4/20 - The Lacrosse Hawklets look to repeat as LAKC champions. They've started the season 9-3 and have big games this week against Aquinas and Shawnee Mission East. Two key players this season are seniors Kevin McLiney and Conor Law.
Tennis with Coach Frisch
5/18 - The Hawklets swept at Individual Sectionals, qualifying two singles players and two doubles players. Rockhurst will host Team Sectionals this weekend, and then head to Springfield the following week in hopes of defending its State Title.
4/27 - This past weekend, the Hawklets competed in the Tournament of Champions, held in St. Louis. Facing some of the best competition in the state, both large and small class, The Rock earned 2nd place. Doubles team Jack Evans and Joe O'Connor, defending State Champions, took home the doubles title from the TOC.
Track with Coach Day
5/27 - Finishing 2nd at Sectionals, the Hawklets qualified 9 athletes for State. Three relay teams will all be competing for State Championships, as well as senior Montae Spiller in the 100 meter, sophomore John Luder in the 1,600 meter, sophomore Danny Toomey in the 3,200 meter, junior Patrick Bowen in the 400 meter, and senior Jimmy Dixon in the shot put.
5/18 - The Rockhurst track team won its first District Championship in 40 years, and looks to parlay that momentum at Sectionals. Coach Day hopes to qualify 12-13 athletes for the State Championship meet in Jefferson City on May 29-30.
Basketball with Coach Campbell
3/4 - Finishing the regular season on a hot streak, the Hawklets closed at 13-11 and a No. 2 seed in Districts. With an offensive explosion, the Rock defeated Lee's Summit West 87-74 in the Semifinals. They will face Ray-Pec in the Finals on Friday, March 6 at 7 p.m.
2/16 - With just three regular season games left, the Hawklets look to fine-tune before District play begins. Coach Campbell says the key to success all starts with defense, and having that defense turn into offense.
Wrestling with Coach Aaron
2/23 - Rockhurst wrapped up the 2015 season with 4 wrestlers competing for a State Championship. According to Coach Aaron, all competed strongly, with sophomore Colin Valdiviez finishing 4th in the 113-pound class, and sophomore Cameron Valdiviez finished in 6th in the 120-pound class. Rock State!
2/16 - The Hawklets competed at the Super Districts, and came out about as expected, according to Coach Aaron. The top four wrestlers all qualified for this weekend's State meet. Colin & Cameron Valdiviez, Carson Meek and Mihcael Broyles all qualified in their respective weight classes.
Cross Country with Coach Dierks
11/10 - The Rock runners finished out the season with a 5th place finish at the State meet. They were led by senior William Thompson, who finished 11th overall. A very strong season was highlighted by KC Metro, District and Sectional Championships for Rockhurst.
11/3 - The Hawklets cross country team utilized a strong first 2.5 miles of the Sectional race to help them edge out Blue Springs by 2 points for the title. The team has now qualified for 8 consecutive State Championship meets. They race this Saturday at State in Jefferson City.
Football with Coach Severino
12/1 - The Hawklets fought off Francis Howell to earn a berth in the Class 6 State Championship. Unfortunately, they came up just short of winning, by a score of 24-31 against CBC. Coach Severino talks about how proud he is of his players this season.
11/10 - Another classic battle with Blue Springs ended in Rockhurst's favor, by a final of 34-29. The Hawklets were led by junior AJ Taylor, who scored all five of the team's touchdowns. The Rock will now face Francis Howell this Friday in the State Semifinal at 7 p.m. at Rockhurst.
Soccer with Coach Lawson
11/10 - Victories in the District and Sectional Championships and the State Quartfinal find the Hawklets at the 21-6 mark, and earned them a place in the State Final Four. This Friday at 4 p.m., they will face Chaminade again in the Semifinal game at Blue Springs South.
10/20 - The Soccer Hawklets are wrapping up the regular season and head into District play. Last week, Coach Lawson's team had a huge overtime win over Chaminade, the #6 ranked team in the country at the time.
Swim & Dive with Coach Winkeler
11/10 - A near-perfect season was capped off by an 11th straight State Championship for the Aquahawks. The team won the State Meet by 97 points, and now sit as the winningest swim & dive program in Missouri high school history.
11/3 - Seeking an 11th consecutive State Championship, Coach Winkler says the key to the Aquahawks' success over the years is managing a team environment in which everyone plays a role, and each person knows what their role is. The squad heads to State in St. Peter's, MO this weekend.
